Phil Smyth is simply a great photographer of people and one of the most unique and original photojournalism photographers in Ireland.

He takes his pictures with true expression, passion and depth of feeling – taking into account the importance of every occasion.

Phil started out in 1991 after studying photography in Manchester and Blackpool and then completing a two year round the world trip covering Australia, the Americas and Asia. With a beaten up Canon and a tea chest full of films, Phil began developing his negatives and set up his photographic business base in Belfast.

His working travels and his early career as solely a press and PR photographer helped him cultivate his unique documentary style and build a very successful commercial photography business establishing a name for himself as one of Belfast’s leading photographers.

And this trademark style has made Phil Smyth Photography synonymous with Ireland’s most glamorous society weddings as well as shooting international weddings all over Europe.
